Paphos International Airport (PFO) is the closest airport to Paphos, Coral Bay and the Akamas peninsula. It lies near the village of Timi, roughly 20 minutes’ drive southeast of Kato Paphos. This guide compares Paphos Airport transfers by public bus, taxi, shuttle and private car, with the latest bus times, so you can plan your first hour in Cyprus.
Quick answer
- Kato Paphos and the harbor area: take bus 612, or else a taxi for a ride of about 20 minutes.
- Paphos Old Town: bus 613 to the Karavella bus station.
- Coral Bay: first take bus 612 to Tombs of the Kings station, then bus 615; otherwise, a taxi takes roughly 30 minutes.
- Limassol: the Limassol Airport Express, €10 for adults when we checked on October 8, 2026.
- Nicosia: the Kapnos Airport Shuttle takes about 1 hour 40 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes.
- Late arrival or a villa outside town: book a private transfer with GetTransfer (affiliate link) in advance.
Paphos Airport transfers compared
Here’s how the options compare by destination. Driving times are approximate, so allow extra time in traffic. In general, buses suit Paphos itself, while shuttles and transfers suit longer trips.
| Destination | Approx. driving time | Public transport | Easiest door to door |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kato Paphos (harbor, Poseidonos Avenue) | About 20 min | Bus 612 | Taxi |
| Paphos Old Town (Karavella) | About 20 min | Bus 613 | Taxi |
| Coral Bay | About 30 min | Bus 612, then bus 615 | Taxi or private transfer |
| Polis and Latchi | About 1 h | Bus to Karavella, then a regional bus | Private transfer or hire car |
| Limassol | About 45 min | Limassol Airport Express | Private transfer or taxi |
| Nicosia | About 1 h 30 min | Kapnos Airport Shuttle | Private transfer |
| Larnaca | About 1 h 30 min | Kapnos shuttle to Larnaca Airport | Private transfer or taxi |
| Ayia Napa and Protaras | About 2 h | Kapnos shuttle, changing at Larnaca Airport | Private transfer or hire car |
Buses 612 and 613 from Paphos Airport
Two Pafos Buses routes serve the airport, and both run every day of the week. Bus 612 goes along the coast via Geroskipou and Poseidonos Avenue, the main hotel strip in Kato Paphos, and it ends at the Tombs of the Kings bus station. Bus 613, by contrast, heads inland to the Karavella bus station, close to the Old Town.
For reference, these were the published departures from the airport when we checked on October 8, 2026:
| Route | Goes to | First bus | Last bus | Departures per day |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 612 | Kato Paphos and Tombs of the Kings station | 07:30 | 01:00 (after midnight) | 17 |
| 613 | Karavella station (Old Town) | 05:50 | 00:00 (midnight) | 12 |
However, gaps between buses can be over an hour, so check the live timetable on the Pafos Buses website for your date. The stop is outside the terminal. Also, buses are regular town services, which means big suitcases can be awkward at busy times.

Getting to Coral Bay by bus
Unfortunately, there’s no direct bus from the airport to Coral Bay. Instead, take bus 612 to the Tombs of the Kings bus station, where it ends, and then change to bus 615. After that, the route follows the coast road through Chloraka and Kissonerga. As a result, it’s cheap and works well in daylight. Still, with a late flight or young children, a taxi or transfer is far easier.
Taxis at Paphos Airport
Taxis wait at the rank outside arrivals. For example, they’re the simplest choice for Kato Paphos, Coral Bay and nearby villages, especially when the buses are far apart. Fares follow regulated tariffs, although they’re usually higher at night. So ask for an estimate before you set off, and check whether the driver accepts cards.
Shuttles to Limassol and Nicosia
The Limassol Airport Express links Paphos Airport with Limassol for a fixed fare per person (€10 for adults when we checked on October 8, 2026). Its Limassol terminal is at Agios Georgios Havouzas. Since the timetable differs by day, look up your date first.
For Nicosia, the Kapnos Airport Shuttle runs from the arrivals exit to its station on Kyrenias Avenue. The ride takes about 1 hour 40 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes. Again, departures vary by day of the week, so book on the Kapnos website.
Kapnos also runs a direct shuttle between Paphos and Larnaca airports, and it added more departures in June 2026. That’s handy for Larnaca itself, and for Ayia Napa or Protaras, where you change to its Larnaca Airport route. According to Kapnos, children up to 12 travel free on its Paphos Airport services. For onward options from Larnaca, see our Larnaca Airport guide.
Private Paphos Airport transfers
In particular, many west-coast visitors stay in villas around Peyia, Tala or the Akamas villages, where buses are rare. In that case, a pre-booked private transfer is often the best of the Paphos Airport transfers. Then the driver meets you in arrivals with your exact address already in hand. Besides, the price is fixed before you travel, so a delayed flight won’t change it.
On GetTransfer, you enter your route, and then local drivers send offers that you can compare by price, car type and rating. In addition, you can request child seats or a bigger vehicle.

Car hire at Paphos Airport
Overall, a hire car is worth it if you plan to explore the Akamas, the Troodos foothills or the wine villages. Conveniently, rental desks are in the terminal, and many firms also deliver to hotels. On the other hand, if you’ll mostly stay in Kato Paphos, buses and taxis are usually enough. Before you book, read our guide to renting a car in Cyprus as a UK driver, which covers insurance excess, red rental plates and driving rules.

Tips for arriving in Paphos
- Match your flight to the bus: late-evening arrivals still have buses; however, the gaps can be long, so a taxi may be quicker.
- Winter schedules: fewer flights land in winter (see our Cyprus winter flights guide for the UK routes into Paphos), and likewise some shuttle timetables change with the season.
- Carry euros: small notes and coins help with bus fares, as well as with some taxis.
- Time difference: because Cyprus is two hours ahead of the UK for most of the year, reset your watch on landing.
- Mobile data: EU visitors can usually roam at home prices, but many UK mobile plans now charge a daily fee in Cyprus. Check your plan before you go, or buy a local data eSIM in advance, for example a Cyprus eSIM from Airalo (affiliate link).
