Paphos is one of the easiest winter-sun and summer-beach escapes from the UK: direct flights leave from airports all over the country, the flight is under five hours from London, and Cyprus drives on the left and uses the same three-pin plugs as the UK. The trick to a good fare is knowing which airlines fly from your nearest airport, and when they actually operate.
Quick facts
- Airport: Paphos International Airport (PFO), about 15 km (9 miles) from Kato Paphos.
- Flight time: roughly 4 hours 45 minutes from London, around 5 hours or a little more from northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
- Time difference: Cyprus is 2 hours ahead of the UK all year.
- Currency: euro (EUR).
- Mobile data: EU visitors can usually roam at home prices, but many UK mobile plans now charge a daily fee in Cyprus. Check your plan before you go, or buy a local data eSIM in advance, for example a Cyprus eSIM from Airalo (affiliate link).
- Driving: on the left, as in the UK.
Which UK airports fly direct to Paphos?
Based on published schedules we checked on October 8, 2026, direct flights to Paphos operate from a wide spread of UK airports, including London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Luton, London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Belfast International and Liverpool. Not every route runs all year: several are summer-only or start in spring.
Which airlines fly UK to Paphos?
- Jet2 serves Paphos from many of its UK bases, and lists Paphos in its Winter 2026/27 winter-sun program, including from London Gatwick.
- easyJet flies from airports such as London Gatwick, London Luton, Bristol, Edinburgh and Manchester.
- Ryanair flies from airports such as London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle, and connects Paphos with many airports across Europe.
- TUI operates flights, often sold with package holidays, mostly in season.
- British Airways flies from Gatwick and Heathrow, with Heathrow listed as seasonal.
Routes and frequencies change every season, so always check the specific route on the airline’s own website before you book.
Flying from elsewhere in Europe
If you are not in the UK, Paphos is also well connected to the rest of Europe, with low-cost carriers covering many routes, particularly in summer. In winter the choice shrinks, and connecting via Athens or flying into Larnaca (which has more year-round routes) can be easier. See Larnaca or Paphos: which Cyprus airport to fly into.
When is it cheaper to fly to Paphos?
We do not publish “average fares” because they go out of date quickly and depend heavily on your airport and dates. What is reliable is the demand pattern:
- Highest demand: UK school holidays, especially late July and August, Easter and October half-term. Seats on convenient flights sell early.
- Often better value: late April to June and mid-September to October, when the sea is warm enough for swimming and the heat is more comfortable for sightseeing.
- Winter: mild compared with the UK, but with fewer direct routes. Good for walking and sightseeing rather than beach days.
Many UK travelers book summer holidays in January and February, when airlines and tour operators run their biggest promotions. If your dates are fixed to school holidays, booking early usually matters more than chasing a last-minute deal.
How to compare fares properly
- Compare the total price: low-cost fares often include only a small under-seat bag. Add a cabin bag or hold bag to every option before you compare.
- Check the arrival time: a late-night landing may mean a taxi rather than a bus into town.
- Consider a flexible search: searching your whole region (for example, all London airports) often turns up better times or prices.
- Know who sold you the ticket: on comparison sites some results are travel agencies, not the airline. Check the change and refund terms.

From Paphos Airport into town
Public buses connect the airport with Paphos: route 612 runs to Kato Paphos and the harbor area, and route 613 runs to the Karavella bus station near the Old Town. Taxis wait outside arrivals and are the easiest option late at night or with lots of luggage. Check current timetables on the Cyprus by Bus website before you travel.
