This editorial policy explains how we research, write and update the guides on IsleFare, a free travel website about Cyprus and Greece for travelers from the UK and Europe. It also covers how we keep our recommendations independent from the partners that help fund the site.

What our editorial policy covers
We publish practical guides on flights, airports, where to stay and getting around. Our goal is simple: to help you plan a trip with fewer surprises. So we focus on facts you can use, such as which UK airports fly to an island, how to get from the airport to town, and which area suits which kind of trip.
How we research our guides
First, we start with official and primary sources. These include airport and airline websites, national tourism boards, government travel advice and public transport operators. Then we compare that information with timetables, route maps and the prices that booking sites show at the time we write.
We list the main official sources at the end of each guide as plain text, so you can check them yourself. In addition, when a source is unclear or out of date, we say so instead of guessing. We also avoid claims we can’t support. For example, we won’t call a beach “the best” just because it’s popular.
Tools we use
We use digital tools to help us work faster, including AI writing assistants to help structure and draft some text. However, these tools don’t decide what we recommend. We check facts such as routes, airports, transfer options and entry rules against the official sources listed in each guide before we publish it. Nisim, who runs IsleFare, is responsible for these checks.
Independence: our editorial policy on affiliate links
IsleFare is reader-supported. When you book through some of our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, as our affiliate disclosure explains. Our editorial policy keeps this separate from what we write:
- We choose topics and recommendations based on what is useful for travelers, not on commission rates.
- Partners don’t review, edit or approve our content before we publish it.
- We don’t publish sponsored articles or paid reviews, and we don’t accept payment for positive coverage.
- We label affiliate links, and we mark them in our code with rel=”sponsored”.
Prices, currencies and dates
We quote prices in GBP or EUR because most of our readers pay in one of those currencies. Still, a price in a guide is only an example from the time of writing, since fares and room rates change daily. That’s why we point you to a live search, such as our flight search, rather than promise a fixed price. Likewise, we name months and seasons with care, because many island routes and ferries run only in summer.
Photos and credits
Most photos on IsleFare come from Wikimedia Commons under open licenses. We credit the photographer, the date where known and the license in each caption. Apart from resizing and compression, we don’t edit the content of these photos. If you are the author of a photo and the credit is wrong, please tell us and we’ll fix it.
How we keep guides up to date
Travel rules and routes change, so our editorial policy treats every guide as a living page. We review guides regularly, and we check them again when something important changes, such as a new airline route, a new airport bus or a new entry system. Each guide is dated, and where facts change often, such as routes and schedules, we say when we last checked them. Meanwhile, if we find an error, we fix it as soon as we can.
Corrections under our editorial policy
If you spot a mistake, please contact us or email hello@islefare.com. It helps if you include the page link, what needs changing and, if possible, an official source. We read every message, and when a correction changes a key fact, we update the page and its date.
Finally, this editorial policy works alongside our terms of use and our disclaimer, which explain the limits of the information we publish.
