Flights to Larnaca from the UK and Europe: Routes, Airlines and Tips

Larnaca International Airport (LCA) is the main gateway to Cyprus. It has more year-round routes than Paphos, and it’s the better-placed airport for Larnaca, Ayia Napa, Protaras and the capital, Nicosia.

Quick facts

  • Airport: Larnaca International (LCA), about 6 km (4 miles) from Larnaca’s seafront.
  • Flight time from London: roughly 4 hours 35 to 4 hours 45 minutes.
  • Time difference: 2 hours ahead of the UK.
  • Currency: euro (EUR).
  • Mobile data: EU visitors can usually roam at home prices, but many UK mobile plans now charge a daily fee in Cyprus. Check your plan before you go, or buy a local data eSIM in advance, for example a Cyprus eSIM from Airalo (affiliate link).

Direct flights from the UK

Based on airline schedules we checked on October 8, 2026:

  • London Heathrow: British Airways flies year-round, with multiple daily flights for much of the year.
  • London Gatwick: British Airways, easyJet and Wizz Air.
  • London Luton: Wizz Air.
  • Manchester: Jet2, TUI and easyJet, mostly seasonal.
  • Other UK airports: mainly seasonal, often with Jet2 or TUI. From regional airports, check Paphos too, because it often has more direct options. See flights to Paphos from the UK.

Flights from the rest of Europe

Larnaca is linked to many European capitals and hubs. Full-service airlines connect through their hubs, and low-cost airlines including Wizz Air and Ryanair fly point-to-point routes. Aegean Airlines connects Larnaca with Athens, which is useful if you want to combine Cyprus and Greece in one trip.

Summer vs. winter

Larnaca keeps a solid schedule in winter, especially to London, because it serves Cypriot residents and business travel as well as tourists. In summer, extra holiday routes are added. If you are traveling between November and March, Larnaca is usually the safer bet for a direct flight.

From Larnaca Airport into town and beyond

  • Larnaca city: bus 425 runs from the airport to the Finikoudes seafront in about 25 minutes, roughly every 20 minutes during the day (check the current timetable).
  • Ayia Napa, Protaras and Nicosia: airport shuttle buses run to these destinations. Nicosia is roughly 40 minutes away.
  • Limassol: a dedicated airport express bus takes about 50 minutes.
  • Paphos: an airport shuttle connects Larnaca Airport with Paphos in about 2 hours, which helps if you find a cheaper flight into Larnaca.
  • Taxis and car hire are available outside arrivals. Remember that Cyprus drives on the left.

Tips for booking

  1. Compare all London airports rather than just one. Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton all have Larnaca flights.
  2. Price in baggage before comparing low-cost and full-service fares.
  3. If you are heading to Paphos, compare flying into Larnaca plus the shuttle with a direct Paphos flight.
