Flights to Rhodes from the UK: Airlines, Season and Airport Guide

Rhodes, the largest of the Dodecanese islands, has one of the biggest choices of direct flights from the UK of any Greek island, with seasonal routes from London and a long list of regional airports. Every flight lands at Rhodes International Airport “Diagoras” (RHO), near Paradisi on the island’s west coast.

Which UK airlines fly to Rhodes?

Based on published schedules checked on October 8, 2026:

  • Jet2 flies to Rhodes from the widest range of UK airports, from London Stansted, Luton and Gatwick to Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast and more.
  • easyJet serves Rhodes from London and several regional bases, including Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Newcastle.
  • Ryanair flies from London Stansted, Manchester and a number of other UK airports.
  • TUI operates flights mainly for its package holidays, and sells spare seats as flight-only.
  • British Airways has seasonal flights from London Gatwick and a less frequent service from Heathrow.

Not every route runs all season. Some regional routes operate only once or twice a week, and often only from late spring. Check the airline’s timetable for your airport and dates.

When are flights cheapest?

The lowest fares are usually in the shoulder months at either end of the season, roughly April to May and October. July, August and the UK school holidays are the most expensive, especially on Saturdays, the traditional changeover day for package holidays. If you can fly midweek, compare a few departure days.

Flight-only or package?

Rhodes is a big package-holiday destination, and it’s often worth pricing both. UK package holidays that include flights are normally ATOL protected, which covers you if the travel company fails. Booking flights and accommodation separately can give you more choice, especially in Rhodes Old Town or smaller villages where independent guesthouses dominate.

Public buses link the airport with Rhodes Town. Taxis wait outside arrivals, and pre-booked transfers are popular for resorts on the east coast. GetTransfer (affiliate link) lets you request a private transfer in advance and compare offers from local drivers. If you’re hiring a car, the airport has desks for the main rental companies.

Flying to Rhodes in winter

Outside the main season there are few or no direct UK flights. The usual route is to fly to Athens and connect on a domestic flight of about an hour (Aegean Airlines, Olympic Air and Sky Express operate between Athens and Rhodes year-round). Ferries from Piraeus to Rhodes are a long journey, often overnight. Many beach resorts close in winter, while Rhodes Town stays open year-round.

Island hopping from Rhodes

Rhodes is a good base for day trips by boat. Symi, with its colorful harbor, is a popular excursion, and ferries continue to other Dodecanese islands such as Kos. Seasonal ferries also cross to Marmaris and Fethiye on the Turkish coast. Take your passport and check entry requirements for Turkey first.

Booking tips

  1. Book school-holiday dates early. Flights from smaller regional airports can sell out.
  2. Compare all-in prices. Add hold luggage, seats and any transfer costs before choosing between airlines.
  3. Check the day of the week. On low-frequency routes, the flight day may decide the length of your trip.
